chipped white epoxy

I purchased 2 Alessi La Stanza Dello Scirocco Fruit Holders in the white epoxy finish, one for me and one as a gift. Although both arrived packaged very well the white epoxy finish on both fruit holders was chipped off in a few places - on the corners, and the silver base metal was visible. I'm concerned the epoxy finish is defective or not durable so I will return the items and not request a replacement. I love the design but rated the item 1 heart and don't recommend it because of this epoxy issue.
