When the first fully bonded pan rolled off its Pennsylvania assembly line more than 50 years ago, All-Clad forever changed the cookware industry. Founder John Ulam's background was not in cuisine but in metalworking—and through Ulam's brilliant cross-pollination of industries, a superior brand of cookware was born. Today, the same heritage and innovation that allowed Ulam to develop the first All-Clad pan is honored in every product that the brand's Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, team produces. Using modern ideas and time-honored techniques, every pot, pan, skillet, and saucier is crafted by hand—from bonding and forming to finishing and riveting—before making its way into your home.

Hoping for this steamer insert for 3 qt & 4 qt saucepans

All Clad, please consider producing a steamer insert designed just like the one in this Stainless 5 qt steamer pot to fit the D3 3 qt. and 4 qt. saucepans. The location of the holes for steam to enter along the bottom outside edge (perimeter) of the insert would provide a better result than the other steamer inserts offered to fit those saucepans. I already have some basic and larger D3 pieces and, due to storage concerns, would prefer to utilize my existing pieces as much as possible and limit future purchases of larger pieces that aren’t fully clad. Thank you.

World to the wise Its not good for boiling pasta

Which is why I purchased this pot. It's beautiful and I have mainly All Clad stainless but it does not work for boiling pasta noodles. The strainer is too shallow. I'm sure it's great as a steamer but not as a pasta pot.

Bad Quality

Didn’t heat up well for making soups, and sticks a lot, not worthy for the price.

Good pot but the steamer holes have gunks in them

There’s black gunks overall the holes on the steamer insert. Cleaned off some but very annoying and still have to clean all.

Slow to Boil

Takes WAY to long to bring water to a boil. Wasn't expecting that. Looks beautiful, though.

Quality steamer

I used to steam my vegetables using a cheap steamer basket (the ones that extend open and close like a flower) I got tired of it as the petals were falling apart. So I decided to buy the All-Clad steamer and I am very happy with the quality. The pot comes with a quality lid that is heavy and keeps most of the vapor inside the pot. The steamer has room to place different veggies; I specially cook sweet potatoes, butternut squash, zucchini and more. The actual pot is nice looking and shiny; works great for soups. I highly recommend it.

A great steamer!

This is a great steamer. We steam a lot of vegetables daily for dinner. Once it has been heated, oven mitts or gloves are necessary as the components get very hot.
