zip-in lining is awkward to wear
I was glad to receive the zip-in lining for my Barbour coat. However, when I zipped it in, and tried to put on the coat, it was awkward and difficult to put on. I solved this by wearing the zip-in lining, then putting on the coat overtop. It is warm and cozy, but I was hoping for a lining that would be simpler to wear with the coat.

The Ashby wears and fits like a suit jacket
Absolutely love my Barber Ashby jacket! As I mentioned in the title, the Ashby wears and fits snuggly like a suit jacket. I am 5‘10“ and 230 pounds. My suit jacket is a 46 regular. The XL fits me perfectly. When wearing a tucked in T-shirt and a sweater or sweatshirt this jacket zipped up fits very snuggly. It gives me a great tailored look! However, like a suit jacket, it lacks range of motion, and not much room between your shirt/sweater and the jacket. If you are used to having a jacket with range of motion and some space in it, I would recommend looking at the Bedail or one of their other models. When reading a couple of previous reviews, I had concerns about the wax staining clothing/upholstery and having an odor. I have experienced none of this! Sure when I first got the jacket, I stuffed my nose into it to test this and I could smell the scent of the wax, but it was mild. Also, nobody around me could either. It’s just like when you get a new leather jacket it’s going to have its scent. My Barber jacket sent has disappeared after two weeks. I have noticed no staining issues. If you stand next to a fire or under a heat lamp, and your jacket gets very warm or sit down on a heated seat in your car, I could see the wax warming up and potentially rubbing off on fabric. It’s quite possible that reviewers issues of staining and odor from his jacket was brand new from the factory and maybe mine was manufactured six months ago, and had more time to “cure “? If you do want to invest in a very good quality jacket, that looks great. Do not let the wax or odor issue hold you back. Again, I have experienced none of those issues.

I love Barbour!
Perfect! I have been looking for this to add for my husband's rain jacket. He had wanted one for a couple of years, but never wanted to spend the money for a "hood" attachment. Macy's had this on sale, so I bought it for him as a gift!

Very warm and easily zipped
Very warm and easily zipped in. Some anchoring at the arm holes would make this better as it can tend to flop around when you're trying to put the coat on, causing you to "miss" the arm of the outer jacket because the two don't line up
