Inspired by her three young sons, Annette Cook crafted her first collection of children's clothing from washable satins and cozy knits in 1994. Channeling California ease and soothing colors, she named her company Barefoot Dreams. Media write-ups and celebrity buzz helped the designer expand into selling branded Disney products and chic loungewear. The brand's offerings include men's and women's apparel, blankets, pillows, throws, and candles, all available worldwide from department stores and high-end boutiques. Giving back is part of the brand's identity, and the company donates time and resources to various US hospitals. In 2020 Barefoot Dreams opened its flagship store in Malibu, where the brand continues to welcome newcomers into its casual and calming world.

Quality has changed at Barefoot Dreams
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A few years ago I purchased a throw from barefoot dreams for my mother. It was one of her favorite gifts I have ever given her. But she accidentally washed it incorrectly, which removed the special softness. I purchased the exact same item this year as a replacement. We are very disappointed to find the throw now thinner with a foul processed smell and not at all the same quality of material or softness. The item I received could have been purchased for significantly less at any given store anywhere.
