I bought this down blanket to be a lighter layer than our down comforter which is often too warm. Before putting it on the bed I washed it according to the instructions on the label, and it shrunk to a point where it might only work on a queen or a double bed. The published width of the blanket is 98 inches vs. a standard King mattress which is 76 inches wide, which would mean that it should hang down 11 inches on each side. The generous width is the entire reason I chose this blanket rather than other options! After washing and drying on low with tennis balls in the dryer as instructed, it gave up a lot of down in the dryer and it hangs down maaaybe 2 inches on each side. This is a shocking and very disappointing amount of shrinkage - it looks absolutely ridiculous on the bed and once 2 people are under it it doesn't come close to reaching the edges of the mattress. Do not recommend.

Lightweight and warm
I was delighted with the very light weight of this blanket. When it is hot outside (even in an air conditioned bedroom) it is too warm. It should work great in winter.

Super versatile blanket
I've been using this as my transitional weather duvet/blanket and its awesome. It seemed awfully thin when we first opened it but it keeps us warm at night and has a light feel. Im going to get another one for my guest bedroom when it goes on sale!
