Awesome ,With Practice!

Amazing machine, once you get everything dialed in. Controls are SUPER simple and easy to manage, but there's definitely a learning curve to getting the right grind size, grind timing, and dosing to get a tasty espresso. Once you do though, it's beautiful.

meets expectations so far

The espresso machine meets the expectation I had at the time of purchase. It is already the updated model with Baratza burr. I can't comment on long term performance and durability. Please note that the machine is often on sale; breville keeps the machine listed at full price but has frequent sales. Hence, the only complain I have is about volatility of retail price.

All Plastic

The description of the product states it is stainless steel. The product is not stainless steel. It is an entire plastic body including all of the knobs .Low quality and fraudulently marketed as stainless, when it is not.

Thank you for your review and your feedback. The body of the brushed stainless steel version is made of brushed stainless steel. It is correct that many portions of the machine are made of BPA-free plastic. But, we do value customers' input. We'll definitely pass along your feedback to the appropriate people, as we are continuously trying to improve our customer's experience.

Great espresso machine for beginners but grinder lacks

Bought this a little over a month ago and it makes good espresso perfect for a beginner. But I’d rather it not have the grinder as it’s not that great, grounds are clumpy and retention is bad making for inconsistent dosing. Might put 18 grams of beans in and get 19 out or 18 in 16.9 out.

Love it

Although this isn’t the best for a beginner , it comes with enough information to be able to understand the basics and then many videos and trial and error help to perfect the process. The machine isn’t humongous but it is solid and is a great addition to my at home coffee portions.

Machine has Died Twice in a Year

We have had this machine for a little over a year. It can make good espresso, but is a little bit inconsistent (acceptable for the price point I guess). But that's not the problem. It had an issue with the pump building enough pressure to pull espresso shots two months ago. We had to send the machine to Breville to service it. Now it cannot generate steam pressure or pull a shot just a couple months later, it's looking like we'll have to send the machine to Breville again. So what can I conclude? The build quality isn't there with these Breville Machines. Form, function, acceptable espresso quality? Sure. If it stops running when you want an espresso? What's the point...

Absolutely love it

This machine is excellent. Full disclaimer, I haven't used any other real espresso machines (only a Nespresso). There is a bit to learn moving up to a real espresso machine. My biggest recommendations are get an accurate scale made for espresso, watch a bunch of youtube videos (I found multiple that use this exact machine), and then finally buy good, fresh beans and start with medium roast beans that are made for espresso (Equator Tigerwalk or Jaguar or Atomic Intensi I found to be the closest to foolproof but there are tons of good ones - trying a local roaster is often a good bet) and you can taste a drop off in flavor by 60 days post roast (almost everything at the grocery store is already too old). Use 17g of grounds and use the manual extraction mode to try to get 34g of espresso out in ~25 seconds. If 34g hits in less than 25s grind finer, if it takes more than 25s then grind courser. Milk steaming is also a learning curve but youtube helps again! If you get both of these right then the result is so much better than the big chain cafes (starbucks, peet's, etc.). The automated milk steaming on the bambino plus or barista pro I could imagine making this a little easier/quicker but with the small tradeoff that the results may not be quite as good. The espresso I've gotten out of this is so good that I now like cortados and whatnot. I think at the big chain cafes these drinks aren't good because the espresso isn't as good but if you have really good espresso then suddenly drinking it good or with much less milk becomes delicious (no more need for those syrups too I've found)
