Beautiful sweater but runs big

I am 5 ft. 1 in. tall, 103 pounds, with a short waist. I usually wear size S but ordered M in this because of the Size Guide. The sweater is beautiful, but in size M it is huge on me! I plan to exchange it for an XS because it seems to run very large and I think even in size S it will be too big.
