Returning!

It looks nice, but the open and lock buttons are so hard to press. Sorry, I have to return it. Going back to my Cuisinart electric pressure cooker that I already use almost 9 years!

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to learn about the problem that you have experienced with your Calphalon 6 Qt. Stainless Steel Pressure Cooker. This product is designed for your safety and convenience. If the Open button is difficult to push, this indicates that the cooker is still pressurized – do not force it open. Remember, the contents inside the base are under pressure, so releasing the pressure before opening the lid is critical.
There are two basic methods in releasing the pressure after cooking. The first one is the natural release. Carefully remove the pressure cooker from the hot cook top and allow it to cool naturally. Depending on the volume of food and liquid in the pressure cooker, this takes approximately 10 to 15 minutes. Once the pressure is released, the Pressure Indicator is down, and the Pressure Valve is no longer emitting steam, the lid is ready to be removed. Press the One Button Unlock to release the lid from the base. Then lift the lid, being careful to direct any residual heat and steam away from your face.
The second method is the quick release. To automatically release pressure from the pressure cooker, turn the Pressure Valve slowly and incrementally to the release position. Steam will loudly escape from the pressure cooker through the valve, so be careful to keep your hands away from the top of the valve, or use an oven mitt for protection. Once the steam is completely released, the Pressure Indicator is down, and the Pressure Valve is no longer emitting steam, the lid is ready to be removed. Press the One Button Unlock to release the lid from the base. Love the pressure cooker

I bought this a month ago and am very happy with the results. I am very disappointed that I can't get replacement gasket for it. Would not have purchased it if I had known that.

Love It!

This is the first pressure cooker I've ever had, because I was always afraid of the old models. I love the way it lock up, is simple and safe to use, very quiet and easy to clean. Besides, since it is made of S/S, you do not need to worry about aluminum traces on your food. There is only one word that best describes this Calphalon model: FANTASTIC. I would definitely recommend!

Ease of Use

I purchased this pressure cooker 1 month ago and have so extremely please with its performance! It's so easy to use and the "lock, unlock" lid is an absolute dream (for those of us who've experienced the hassle of pressure cooker lid removal to this point!). A great buy!

Just awesome

I have been using this pressure cooker for about five years now. I was searching for some recipe with pressure cooking, and saw the reviews and thought I should write my experience as well. This pressure cooker is so pretty and easy to use. Easy to clean. I love it. I cook beans, meat, and even cooked Indian recipes which is called "Dal" in it. One thing with Dal cooking is, If it is washed very well few times, it does not spill or clog the steam valve. Even though the handles stay fairly cool after the steaming is over, I recommend to open the top with towel, because it can be pretty hot sometimes, if you steam a little longer. The cooker does not take lot of space. It is so cute, but you can cook a lot in it. I love my Calphalon pressure cooker. I've even made Beef Bourguignon in it. Yummy. So good. If you have never cooked in a pressure cooker before, Calphalon is the way to go, because it is very simple to use. I highly recommend this pressure cooker to beginners and professional cookers. It is just wonderful.

Simply a dream!

This was a recent purchase for me by my husband! I had used an older model pressure cooker, I complained about constantly! I've used it once so far and it was a dream to use and clean! Thanks Honey!
