This is an ok product. Spreads easily, is a nice base for makeup, and leaves a nice glow, but not too oily if not wearing makeup. Doesn’t pill or leave a white cast. However, it is far too expensive for an every day sunscreen, hence the 3 stars. If it were at a better price point, I would recommend

Beautiful to use
I got this as my birthday gift from space nk. And it’s such a delight to use. I’m so pleased with it. Now this clearly has silicone in, as it has the texture and feeling of it. But I don’t mind that in an spf (do not like it in the layers underneath) and it hasn’t pilled with other products on top. It has a very runny texture so do shake well. But it applies easily and allows you to get a good coat and full coverage of SPF. but it doesn’t feel cakes. Good high level of protection. Let’s not lie. It is expensive. But it lasts ages and is highly effective.

Badly marketed as an SPF
I wish I would have understood this is more geared at being a primer than an SPF. I foolishly tried to use it as an SPF, and it was obviously way too oily and just cosmetically inelegant. This is just so hard to use, and so terribly pilling. It has been relegated to stay at home weekend days SPF, I just cannot use any kind of foundation with this (when using any quantity remotely close to cover SPF requirements). And it's also annoying to use, what with having to unscrew a cap, pour a very liquid sunscreen in your hands, then screw the cap back ok on as it doesn't just stand while you apply it…terrible.

Chantecaille Ultra Protection SPF45 Primer
I like the Chantecaille Ultra-protection SPF45 Primer as not only does it shield my skin from both UVB and UVA rays, but it leaves no white cast on my MAC NC42 / darker skin tone, and plays well under makeup.. The primer is very runny so you have to be super careful in using it otherwise you waste the product. It is an unusually fluid texture and a little goes a long way . Easy to put on as a primer but it is a shame that it's really expensive and difficult to justify the cost as a regular purchase.

Oily
I wanted to love this product, but I have hardly used it as I find it too oily for my combination skin. I will sometimes use it if I am going out of the house for an hour and need to apply some quick SPF in the winter months, but know I will be back soon to cleanse my skin! Just to use it up really, as couldn't tolerate using it in the Summer.

So much more than a factor 45 sunscreen!
I just love this fantastic Chantecaille daily use sunscreen and primer in one . I always apply it after morning skin care and before light Chantecaille tinted moisturiser to fully protect my skin from sun and weather damage . It is an unusually fluid texture and a little goes a long way . There is no ‘ space man’ aluminium / white look which some sunscreens give , but a gorgeously hydrated and smooth feel and surface to go with or with out makeup . I spend a lot of my days outdoors with dog walking and gardening and this more than protects and hydrates my face all day whatever wind , sun, comes my way . Expensive I know - but- we only have one chance to look after our precious skin and prevent damage so well worth every penny in my view and experience . If you have especially oily skin you may not like it perhaps . Otherwise give it a try if you can .

SILKY SUNSCREEN!! WHAAAAT???!!
I have never felt a sunscreen like this before.. Smooth as silk without a white cast?! I love a good transition from my skincare to my makeup and boyyy does it do the job and then a little overtime ;) A little goes a long way but be prepared to fall in love! I have paired it with SOOO MANY different foundations and finishes and she WINS EVERYTIME!!

Too oily
I picked this as tester and was wondering if it could replace my primer. However, it was disappointing as it is greasy, definitely not suitable for hot and humid climate. There are better product for SPF protection then this with lower price range. I would stick to the anti-pollution mattifying cream as primer.
