Beautiful, but ...
I really like the placemats I received. They are bright and cheerful. The size is good. Unfortunately, my husband pointed out to me that condensation leaks through to the table we are trying to protect.

Worst Placemat Possible
Chilewich is a triumph of marketing. How they were able to take a woven plastic mat and sell it as this high end, ideal table setting underlayment should be studied in business school. They look nice, but functionally - as a placemat - they are the worst possible solution imaginable. As a woven product, it's basically just a plastic mesh so anything that gets on the surface will find its way to the table. There is zero protection from moisture. Second, they stain like you would not believe. One use and some Rao's red sauce is now permanently part of this expensive mistake, even though the mat was promptly rinsed and scrubbed with all kinds of detergents and soaps. If someone sat down at their thinking table with the goal of coming up with the worst placemat possible, they would be hard pressed to outdo chilewich.

Gorgeous blue blue.
Gorgeous blue blue. Not as dark as navy, but a serious blue color! They help me protect enjoy my grandmother's 1960's Heywood Wakefield dinng set and preserve it's finish. We move them around to protect the wood, wash them easily. Love them!
