    Frühstück with JSB at Café Zimmerman, 1723. Strong coffee, buttery almond pastries, pipe tobacco.

    "I wanted to create the scent of the café in Leipzig where Bach wrote his famous Java Cantata in the 1700s. I imagine tightly packed tables of people breakfasting over buttery almond pastries and strong coffee. Smoking pipes, reading newspapers, talking. Creamers of milk, kitchen steam, tobacco clouds, a hint of an old fireplace in the corner, and burgundy leather upholstery on the seats.

    I love breakfast.

    It's really a passion of mine. This candle is our first overtly gourmand scent. It's light-hearted. I love the idea that you can change your house into this legendary café at such a specific moment in time simply by lighting it."

Heady and wintery

I was intrigued by this and it’s as another review said not for everyone - I prefer lighter fresh zestier fragrances in the home this is heavy, dark and heady. The sort of thing I’d expect in a gentleman’s club or pub - I think the scent of old coffee grains is prevalent as well as sweetness of vanilla - it’s certainly unusual and different but not for me

Transport to Another Time

The combination of leather, tobacco, and buttery croissants makes this candle a dreamy way to transform your home into an old-world cafe. Perfect for an early morning coffee. This is a slow burning candle so worth every penny!

Stunning scent but might not be for everyone

Candles from this house can be hit or miss and this one is a big hit for me. It’s quite strong so might not be for everyone, if you’re not into deep, resinous leather scents this is not for you. Leather, chocolate and woods. A staple for cold days. The vessel is quite narrow so it really minimizes the tunnelling but the wicks of DS Durga are again hit and miss so I always make sure to burn it in a holder to minimize drafts.

This is such a sweet, warming fragrance, with a subtle bite/something unusual to stop it being a generic gourmand. (I don't pick up the coffee in this really) Love it, but Brooklyn Lavender and Concrete After Lightning are probably my faves and have a slightly stronger throw. The DS

A delight

The scent of high quality, dark roasted coffee with just a touch of cream. The gentle smokiness that hangs in the air on cold crisp autumn mornings. This candle is as addictive and as intoxicating as a real cup of coffee. The smoked glass is also gorgeous.

I like it but

So this s a really nice candle with a great cold throw. However I don't really get the fragrance notes. I don't get anything remotely breakfast like. To me it just smells like a clinical, smokey smell. I mean its a nice smell but its nothing like the descripton suggests.
