    If nature offers olfactive clashes, tuberose is probably the best example of these. These pretty flowers exude an almost carnal smell, superimposing in a quasi-miraculous way flower-shop freshness, camphorous violence--spicy and animalic--and milky sweetness. This mysterious equilibrium has always fascinated perfumers. Eighteen months were necessary for Dominique Ropion to create a modern version of that theme, an "olfactive Everest" that only the most talented perfumers are capable of reaching.

    Dominique Ropion trained at the legendary Roure Bertrand Dupont laboratory before going to work with Jean-Louis Sieuzac, one of the perfumery world's great technicians. Today he is a star perfumer at IFF. What makes Ropion's work special is the mix of precision and freedom, and his quest to create new, harmonious accords by pairing ingredients that are polar opposites. An adventurer who abandons himself to instinct, Dominique Ropion is also extremely rigorous in the final stages of the formulation of each of his fragrances.

Carnal flowers

Absolutly beautiful and elegant scent. Good longevity and sillage. A little sharp on first spraying but the dry down is perfection. Very classy. Suitable for all ages. Me and daughter both reach for this one in the morning. Lasts 5/6 hours on me. Can still slightly smell on clothes when they've been washed. More suitable for an event and not the office.

Wonderful surprise!

This was a blind buy based entirely on reviews. I was interested in trying a new perfume and it is a first time I tried scent that has a marked sweetness to it. But what a surprise! It is also fresh especially at the beginning and develops beautifully, with an enormous staying power on both skin (more than a day, with showers in between) and clothes (a week)! I find it alluring and have received compliments from friends who usually do not notice perfumes I wear. However, I do not recommend it as a blind buy apart from getting a 10ml as I did!

Stunning

My second favourite of the Frederic Malle scents, this is floral but not overly so, and is still really sexy. I feel sensual wearing this it’s a captivating scent and I’ve never smelt anything similar. It’s expensive but a fabulous present to receive

Beautiful Scent

I have been using this scent for a couple of years, and I have it for the summer time. It's floral yet musky, with a slightly sweet undertone of patchouli. It's quite heady and very strong, so you only need a small amount. I'm glad Space NK is stocking this brand now!

Intoxicating

Frederic Malle makes the best perfume. Portrait of A Lady is my go to for during the day but if I am going out at night, I love using Carnal Flower. It is very grown up and sexy, too much for during the day but perfect for the evening. It's expensive but very much worth it.

Beautiful fragrance

I'm so glad to see this for sale at SpaceNK. I've been using it for years and never get bored. It's a totally unique scent - just the right mix of floral, warmth, sweetness. What I like best is that you only need a tiny amount and it lasts the whole day. I even have scarves that carry the fragrance for several days after wearing and it never seems to go off. It feels like you're using and wearing a quality product.
