The fit is way off

I love Gerald Darel dresses. I discovered the brand in Paris and Bloomingdales is the only retailer in the US that sells it. This dress is beautiful, high quality fabric, but the fit is strange. The elastic waist is too high and the dress is kind of weirdly wide.
