Didn't work for me

Yes they do run big. I wear 10.5 and I ordered a 10. My problem was with the shoe turning inward every step I took. I don't know what caused it it but it's never happened with any other shoe. I wonder if it's the wide front bottom rubber.

Great for it's waterproof properties.

I bought these for a European river Christmas market trip. They are perfect for walking in wet environments and very comfortable. I bought an 8 1/2, knowing that they may be a little on the big side, as Hoka is. (I normally wear an 8 1/2 in shoes, but Hoka is better in an 8.) I will be wearing thicker merino socks for warmth, as these do not provide a warm lining. I tested them in a decent rainstorm we had this week and I feel they will be great for the trip without a lot of heavy bulk or weight. Interestingly, they come with an extra pair of regular laces. In order to use those, you would have to cut off the speed laces, which is a bummer.

Purchased for multi-day trek

I was looking for a hiking shoe that is waterproof and will hold up to long distance hikes over many days in possibly rough weather. I've been purchasing Hoka hiking and running shoes for a few years now because I find that many shoes give me blisters on my arches and toes, but haven't have that problem with Hokas. I previously had the Kaha 2 GTX and, while they didn't cause blisters, they are very large/bulky shoes and didn't stay waterproofed long (which was disappointing considering the price). I've hiked with the Chukka GTX for a few hikes now, including very wet hikes, and they haven't caused blisters, have kept my feet dry, and are much more minimal design than the Kahas (I'll be taking these on the W-Trek in Patagonia, so I appreciate a more compact shoe if possible). With the more minimal design, they are less substantial as far as padding compared to any boots I've had, which I'm slightly concerned will mean my feet get cold more quickly, but the other qualities make up for that. I usually find hiking boots to be a little smaller than I need (with thick socks and whatnot), but Hokas have always been true to size for me.

Transport GTX

I would really appreciate it if Transport Chukka GTX OAT MILK/alabaster would make the Transport GTX low top in oat milk/alabaster color. It's a neutral color that goes with everything. If they had it, I'd buy it! Thanks Hoka

So comfy! Runs large

I had to exchange because theyre a bit too big. My size varies from 10 to 9.5 so I went with 9.5 according to the reviews I saw about them running large. I'm exchanging them for a size 9 now. But the brief moment I wore them, so comfy! Cant wait to wear them for work

Shoe is good, but has some issues

The laces broke under 6 months. I reached out and was told they don't offer replacement laces. I was told I could ship the shoes back and see if it's covered under warranty, but I am responsible for paying shipping… it's cheaper for me to just buy laces from another brand. The waterproofing also started to decrease within a couple of months. I would call them more water resistant.

Not for me

I am going on a walking tour and needed something with more grip than my Cliftons & Bondis have. These are absolutely adorable, and I wish they fit me but sadly no they don't. I just ordered the Skywalker and they rub against my ankle. One last attempt, I will try the Challenger. I used to wear the Challenger daily but haven't since they made so many changes.
