Falling apart after about a year

I purchased a few John Varvatos henleys. They fit well and I really like them, however, all of the shirts that I purchased are falling apart (like visible holes in the fabric). I purchased multiple other t-shirts in the same order from brands like Theory and Saturdays that are still doing great; skip JV and go for something higher quality.
