Much like a Master Perfumer who crafts accords and essences in a perfume, a Master Blender combines the eaux-de-vie in perfect proportions for an exceptional cognac. Angels' Share contains the essence of cognac derived from the liquor to lend it a natural caramel color. Opening with cognac oil, upon a blend of oak absolute, cinnamon essence and tonka bean absolute, the scent's long-lasting notes of sandalwood, praline and vanilla make for a delicious finish, a rare concoction only angels should experience.

A first-time collaboration with French perfumer Benoist Lapouza, the perfume Angels' Share is Kilian Hennessy's most personal fragrance creation yet, inspired by his eighth-generation inheritance of Hennessy savoir-faire in cognac making. Undoubtedly the best gourmand in my collection!
After buying and returning a fake from eBay, I decided to bite the bullet and a buy 1.7 oz bottle of Angel’s Share directly from Bloomingdales. This is a gourmand like no other! As the notes listed on various perfume websites are getting increasingly unreliable, I am relying on my nose and the perfumer’s notes to discuss the accords. Some folks can smell hedione, apple pie, pepper, cherry, patchouli, nutmeg and pumpkin in it. But do not despair if you cannot, because I don’t smell any of these notes. The opening notes are sweet and strong, yet somehow very light. This lightness is what separates Angels’ Share from other heavy gourmands. It opens with a beautiful vaporous alcoholic note, immediately joined by the heart notes of tonka bean and a light cinnamon. Kilian says that the alcohol comes from the essence of cognac, but I cannot vouch for it as I do not know the cognac note. They also list oak absolute as a key ingredient in the heart notes, another accord that I am not familiar with. Angel’s Share has many more mysterious notes that make it a perfect perfume. The gourmand notes do not complete disappear with time, but they are joined by a pleasant sandalwood and vanilla in the late phase. These base notes and dry down are very mild, almost a memory of the greatness that preceded them. Angels’ Share exhibits excellent performance in the beginning. It lasts 6-8 hours on my skin, and a bit more on my clothes. The sillage is very good for a few hours, but it becomes an intimate scent soon after. It disappoints me that Benoist Lapouza has not produced any other masterpieces before or after Angels’ Share. But the one hit he has, surpasses the lifetime output of many perfumers. Angels’ Share is a perfect ten for me. No perfume collection is complete without it.

Great Fragrance

Great scent
Great scent! My fiancé started wearing this when we first started dating two years ago and ran out. He recently bought a new bottle and it instantly reminded me of so many positive memories and fun times. I hope he always has some on hand. It’s a great scent for any man to wear daily.
