Love this cream

I have sensitive dry skin and have tried just about everything on the market but I always come back to crème de la mer. It's wonderful for my dry aging skin and I haven't found anything to compare with it. Its a real treat and although expensive I feel it’s totally worth the price.

Does what it should do

It is really thick initially when you scoop it out from the tub, which means it's packed with antiageing and moisturising ingredients. I like how the consistency spread when you first rub it in your hands, and then finally placing it on your face. Literally woke up the next day with glass skin, that doesn't even compare to any other products I've tried in the same category.

Incredibly soft skin with this cream

Although the price is high, I absolutely loved using the 15ml tub of this cream. It made my skin so soft, my skin felt moisturised, it wasn't too heavy or too light - just right! And the results would last all through the day and night. 4 stars because the price is pretty insane for the average consumer in my view!

not worth the price

yes this is a hydrating cream that makes skin feel incredibly soft and nourished. It works well for dry or mature skin, but the price is very high, too high. There are similar rich moisturizers available for less, but if you’re willing to splurge, this is a great one. just can't justify this price for a cream without any amazng active ingredients

Rich but potential breakouts

I got a regular jar of this as a present, as it’s not a cruelty free brand (owned by Estee Lauder) so I wouldn’t have bought it myself. First off the jar is premium and heavy, and being glass (I think?!) it can be recycled easily so plus points there. I will say I’m unsure why premium brands like the “jar and caviar spoon” style because I much prefer tubes or pump bottles for easy and fast application. So you’ll have another jar and spoon to add to your bathroom shelf to dig out of. The smell is strong and although I like it, I thought perfumed skincare was a no no these days? Cutting to the chase, no I didn’t feel like my skin was mega plump and wrinkles reduced. What I DID find though was my face breaking out (I’m approaching 40 so this isn’t the norm for me lol) on my cheeks and chin- but nothing on my forehead. I thought this might be a fluke but no, the cream is that heavy it caused breakouts sadly as the same happened when I tried again. I use it at night now exclusively on my forehead and eye area, and I do feel like my skin is super soft and much less dry in these areas. I will say I do feel like my skin was more dewy and soft, but it didn’t reduce pores or minimise my fine lines or make me “glow”. I’d describe it as a very rich hydrating moisturiser that helped my dry skin. It’s very good if like me you have exceptionally dry skin or damage- it’s just a shame that for some reason it broke me out in patches! I do think it’s a good cream if you can get it working for you (excellent for dry skin) just be warned it can cause sore breakouts. It’s a VERY rich cream so definitely get a sample first if you’re keen.

Okay

I have received a sample and was super excited as this is such a famous creme and I was a bit disappointed, the creme was fine but nothing special,.my skin is not glowing any more or feels more plump, I enjoyed it but I don't think I will buy it again, seems to.me more the name why people buy it
