Lovely flatware set but defective knives

Upon the first wash the knives showed rust on the seam with the blades and also around the edges of the filigree at the bottom of the knife handle. I suspect that the manufacturing step of dipping the knife handle into the shiny stainless finish did not impart thick enough shinny stuff. Hence the rust of the underlying iron. So sad to have to return these as they were almost the exact design of the flatware in my childhood home.
