Baccarat Rouge 540 Extrait is undeniably strong and long-lasting, but it’s not my favourite. On my skin, the opening feels quite intense and almost overwhelming, and the sweetness becomes a little too much as it dries down. I can appreciate the quality and the performance — it lasts all day with just one spray — but the overall scent profile just doesn’t suit my personal taste. Those who love bold, sweet, powerful fragrances will adore it, but it wasn’t the right fit for me.

I wore Baccarat Rouge 540 one evening walking in New York, and the street honestly smelled terrible. Even with all that going on, someone stopped me just to say, “You smell so good, what perfume is that?” I was surprised they could smell my fragrance over everything else in the air. If you want a perfume that cuts through the noise and actually gets noticed, Baccarat Rouge 540 is the one to get.

Slightly disappointing
The packaging was gorgeous and looked expensive. The impression of the box gave the impression that it would be a full size item, however The bottle was lovely but extremely small. It was lovely to sample it, as wouldn’t buy it normally for myself

I do like this perfume, the scent is lovely, I think posdibly a little woody and fruity but not sure. Sadly it was not long lasting on my skin which when you see how much it costs you expect it to. I liked how the sample came with a small candle too and this smelt lovely when close to the candle when it was burning.
