I ordered these because I read skinny jeans are coming back. I'm a 10 in clothing and 30 in jeans. I'm 5' 6" tall. I have an hourglass figure with high hips like Marilyn Monroe. I wear NYDJ bootcuts in 10. When I first ordered, I couldn't get them over my hips and reordered a 12. The fabric has some stretch, but it is thick and feels like real denim. The color is rich, elegant and dark. The waist isn't high; it feels like midrise on my high hips. There's some waist gap with this larger size, so I need a belt. By contrast, my old Macy's INC skinny jeans had a high waist and more stretch, so I could wear an 8. The material was thinner and looked painted-on. These NYDJs are skinny fit, but you can slip them off without having to peel them inside out. They are narrow enough to tuck into boots. I ordered these in dark rinse and black. I'm getting used to the change in fit. My leggings were too old to keep and needed to be purged.

A little dissapointed...
They are not the same jeans that you would find in stores. Fabric is different, fit is different; not as nice as the pair I had previously.

Skinny Jeans? Not at all.....
In spite of going down one size as recommended, these jeans are ridiculously huge and shapeless. My normal size is a 2, and the 0 fits more like a 6! While the Ami may be labeled "skinny," the fit is tapered and snug from the knees down only. There is so much gapping in the hip and waist areas that these fit more like jodhpurs. For the price paid, it's disappointing that the fabric collects every piece of lint and the jeans sag as the day goes on, resulting in a less than stylish look. These NYDJ jeans are the epitome of "mom jeans." I'll donate this pair and move on to a brand that offers better style and overall quality.

Too short & would bunch up in knees, Returning.
I usually love NYDJ jeans, but not this one. It is not long enough. They don’t look long enough to start & then I know if I wash them they’ll be even shorter. So I’m returning them. I also see that they would bunch up in the knees on me if I wear them for any length of time which wouldn’t look good. I’m sure they must fit some people. I do have slim legs & am a slim person, so it’s not a body issue.
