I gifted this to my husband' for his birthday. I debated over the gas only version, but thought he might enjoy the wood fire option. Not only was he thrilled, when he opened it, he said "This is exactly what I would have purchased!". It was an instant hit. After trying both the gas and wood fitted option, we definitely prefer the wood fired taste, wood gets to a higher heat faster than gas and it seems to hold a higher temp better for multiple pizzas in a row. We did learn that if you don't leave the door open while cooking, the crust burns quickly. And the center doesn't cook through. By our third time using this ourPizzas now come out looking professionally made. We've used this far more than I expected, 2-3 times a week, and we keep coming up with new pizza recipes to try. We purchased the pre-made dough and love the ease and flexibility it creates for a quick delicious meal. We even hosted a make your own pizza night with friends and they can't stop raving about how it was the best pizza they ever had. I would highly recommend! This product!

Won’t be buying ready made pizza again.
I’m impressed by the quality of the oven, the fittings, the build of it, the simplicity of it. At last I can get a thin crust just how I like it.

Not happy
I didn't respond when I first got the invitation to review my new ooni oven. My first few attempts were not optimal so I thought I'd give it more time. I'm still not very happy. I have only used the gas option and the oven never gets hot enough even after extended periods of heating. The crust is not done enough and the top is burnt from the flames. After talking to a professional pizza caterer in town, he said he could never get the multi-fuel unit to work either. Wish I'd gone single fuel!

A lot to learn but excited for the outcome!
I've been tempted to buy a pizza oven for years and finally took the plunge. The oven looks great and in theory, pretty simplistic but there's so much to learn in making the perfect pizza as I've already found out! The glass door is really useful for visual and temperature checks without having to lose heat by opening the door. It also stays relatively soot free. The hardest thing for me was stretching the dough out properly and leaving it out for too long which made it harder to transfer into the oven. Also it took me ages to heat the oven to the correct temperature. I used a mixture of recommended grade charcoal and wood but maybe I didn't use enough charcoal. I tried to speed things up by adding more and more wood which ultimately burnt some of my pizza! But overall I love it and just need to get used to it now!

Some learning and design adjustments needed
Incredibly easy to use. The wood fire just works. 2 main complaints: 1. The deck temp drops from pie to pie. I made 4 pies recently and by pie 3 the top was cooked well ahead of the bottom. Not sure how to adjust for this. 2. There are some small rubber grommets that are supposed to act as stops for the door. Because of the geometry of the door these receive a huge amount of lateral force. After just two uses one has already ripped out. Generally seems like a poor design.

Loved our pizzas, cooked using wood. Still a learner, but very happy with the outcome. Instructions were very helpful. Looking forward to trying out the gas burner too.
