Not worth the price

It can barely cut a tomato and couldn’t julienne my carrots very well. For the price point I would expect a sharper blade. I’m not sure if it’s user error but it seems to cut cucumbers just fine. Other things it just mutilates. I was more excited for it when I first got it but now I’m disappointed in the performance.

DULL BLADES

The julienne and wavy blades are completely unsharpened sheet metal. A potato is stopped cold when trying to use either which is pretty scary when using a mandoline. Oxo sent me a warranty replacement which was every but as dull and useless.

Cleaning Nightmare

I really wanted to like this mandoline. I love OXO products. I process a lot of garden produce for canning and for the freezer - quick & easy uniform slices makes the process so much more enjoyable. But thoroughly cleaning this mandoline is nearly impossible - mostly because of how the julienne and french fry blades move up & down through the upper flat surface. I finally resorted to the smallest bottle brush I could find (less than 1/2") to get into all the nooks and crannies without cutting my fingers or dish cloth to shreds. And then I realized the blade was getting dull - and could get no information about sharpening the blade or purchasing a replacement blade. So after two years of use I'm sending this mandoline to the scrap yard. Fancy cuts and the adjustment dial are useless if the blade cannot be sharpened or replaced. And the long tedious cleaning process is just miserable.
