No protective packaging for shipping

Item had a terrible smell upon delivery. It did not have any protective packing or protective bag--it was just placed in the delivery box. I understand if the item was made of plastic or other material that washes easily, but this is a blanket--it should have been wrapped in something to protect it. This is not because of the shipper/shipping company--it was they way the item was prepared before/for shipping that is the problem, in my opinion.
