Heating element inconsistent

Item is expensive so I waited for it to go on sale. When I received the item the heating temperature was inconsistent. Sometimes I had to turn the device off/on it order for it to get warm/hot. Even when turned on to the highest setting the pad was still just warm. The material is soft and the pad itself is a nice size. Heating does not occur around the perimeter of the pad. Even though the pad is large the "heated area" is smaller. Not sure if I received a defective item or if others are experiencing the same. Will be returning.

Very large and works great

Bought this for a sore back. It is quite large, soft and heats up very quickly. I like the option that it turns itself off in 2 hours. Would recommend.
