I was surprised at how substantial this rug is. The colors are beautiful and rich. The blues are beautiful. Upon close inspection, you can see that the patterns of the materials that comprise this rug are reminiscent of braided rugs and denim--honestly, not my preferred material for much of anything--except denim for jeans. And yet, the overall effect is velvety blues. The generous 1/2" thickness of this carpet makes it seem considerably more important than the "Cape Cod" denotation, though because of the casual material, including jute, I can see why it's part of the Cape Cod Collection. For some reason, I thought I was buying a smaller rug but didn't want to return it because it's so yummy. Since I had nowhere to put a 3x5', I put it in our finished basement. I actually love seeing it when I go downstairs. It makes the basement look much nicer--brings the "decor" up a notch and makes it feel warmer. We all like the rug so much I just ordered the same one, despite looking at hundreds of other options, in other sizes. The 3x5 is too small for this area. I bought (2) 4x6s and a 12' runner for the basement. I will need to relocate this 3x5...somewhere.
