strong chemical smell

The sham had a strong chemical smell when first extracted from the plastic case it was packaged in. I followed the washing instructions. It still smelled after washing, partially tumble-drying on low and air drying the remainder. It retained the chemical smell over several days. I kept ONE of the TWO (purchased separately, not in one package) to see if the smell will eventually go away. Still air drying to see !
