The best out there

I have numerous Shun knives but this was amazing and makes life worth it more to have a bread knife that is flawless!

WoW!

We used our old bread knife then tried the Shun knife. What a difference! Instead of shredding the bread, it sliced cleanly through. Could cut a paper-thin slice of bread! What an amazing difference!

The best knife to slice crusty bread.

The best bread knife! I needed one that slices, not tears my homemade sourdoughs and this one sinks into it like it was butter and never tears the crust. I think it is partly because of the slightly curved shape and also the soft waves (no sharp points) of the serrations. Very happy with it and the prompt delivery.

The perfect addition to your Shun knife collection

I don't think that anyone needs a lot of knives, but one or two chef's knives, a paring knife, and a bread knife are vital. This rounds out my Shun collection, and I couldn't be happier. Not sure if I actually need the layered steel construction, but why not, since the Shun knives are so gorgeous to look at. I do worry about sharpening the bread knife, but when used as it should be on relatively soft foods, on a wooden cutting board, it should stay sharp for years.

Love Knife, Return Knife Block

Dear Shun, I love the shun knife that I ordered but the knife block did not suite my needs and the shipping costs to send it back was over half the amount that the block cost. Also, the return process was not straight forward. You should be providing labels.

Best bread knife

This was a night and day difference between the bread knife that was used before this one. This knife practically melts through our hand made bread loaves and baguettes. Literally every knife that Ive tried this far has been a top notch experience. It looks amazing and you can tell the high quality just by looking at it.
