pretty duvet cover with one major annoyance

This duvet cover is great, but not perfect. The biggest downside is that the matelasse is only on one side. The reverse side is plain white cotton. This means that if the duvet isn’t perfectly aligned with your comforter, you are seeing the plain / non textured reverse around the edges. For the price, I would not have expected a cheaper fabric on the reverse. On the plus side, the main side looks great - simple and beautifully textured. It washes nicely, too.
