Handmade in Venice by passionate artisans—and inspired by traditional gondolier slippers—these velvet Mary Janes, known as furlanes, are crafted of the best Italian materials using skills passed down from generation to generation. The furlana is the quintessential Venetian slipper: the name dates back to the XIX century, when a few ingenious ladies from Friuli began producing footwear with left-over fabrics and old bicycle tires. Today, the tradition thrives with luxurious fabrications and construction that feels as good as it looks.

Bloomingdale online very inconsistent

I have several pair of these shoes and I like them well enough. There is zero support, but it wasn’t expected. They are lightweight ballerina flats. They definitely run small so size up. Almost 7 1/2 and I ordered an 8 which is a 38. They aren’t on the verge of being small, but if I had gone another size up, it would’ve been too big. I like the shoes or I wouldn’t have so many of them. Just understand they are casual and as flimsy as slippers, but well-made. I would’ve given them four or five stars. The reason they got three is not due to the shoes, but due to Bloomingdales online and consistency. The issues I received were obviously returns. They came in a bag that was marked with a different size and color and there was nodust bag included. I’m not sure that Bloomingdales will do anything about it. It’s almost impossible to get help from them.

Sizing is small choose carefully

Sizing runs very small, normally I'm a US 7.5 with a somewhat wide toe box. I ordered a 39 based on other reviews. These fit me nice and snug with a pair of 20-denier tights. My feet measure 24.2cm (9.53in), 9.4cm (3.7in) at the widest part, so I would want to size up to fit thin socks and an insole in them (to add support since the soles on these are very thin). If you have narrow feet and stick with thinner socks, I would say a 39 would be perfect, but for my case a 40 is ideal.

Cute, comfortable but runs small

Love the look of these shoes. They run quite small. I’m a 7.5 and sized up to an 8. I could have stood to size up to a 9!

Venezia flat shoes

Very nice looking but you need to size up. It’s comfortable wearing it in the office throughout the day. I have not tested them walking for a long time.
