This is really good looking on my black table. They are really dishwasher safe. I was concerned with the finish.

Beautiful copper color, nice size

I had prior VB rimmed bowls (different set) which I gave to my son for his new apartment. They were good for soup but too small for pasta so I chose this for both the size and the striking color. They look even better in person, a very pretty metallic copper and, unlike gold trimmed ware, they can be microwaved.

My basic set is Manufacture Rock (service for 8 in black, service for 4 in white) which has a few pieces of Manufacture Rock Glow (orange/copper). I use Glow with the black set for an elegant table. This particular platter is from the Manufacture Glow series and is white on the bottom but the two I got look fantastic under the black (Collier) serving bowls. In effect, I can mix my Manufacture Rock pattern three different ways for three different effects: all black (all white, for that matter), black with Glow accents (for elegance), and black and white for a more casual table. Alas, Villeroy and Boch discontinued the Manufacture Rock Granite series. (Apparently it was problematic.) Otherwise I could have had a black (or white) and gray setting. Extremely versatile, medium priced, stunning table service! It was the square and rectangular pieces that caught my attention at first, but the mixture of square, rectangular, and round makes for a very interesting table.
