The Food Processor is a Big Attachment with Flaws.
I have had my old Kitchen Aid Food Processor for over 20 years and recently started having problems with the container, so I decided to buy the Vitamix food processor attachment bundle that includes the 48oz container. If I could buy a new container for my Kitchen Aid I would because there's nothing wrong with the Base but it's old and hard to find parts. Honestly the jury is still out on how I feel about this processor. First off it's big. I don't know how many people would take advantage of the max capacity but it is big and if you're a shorter person you may have trouble because it sits on top of the vitamix base making it sit higher. Secondly, and this is probably the most irritating is that the clips on the lid that go on either side on the container require quite a bit of strength to push down so they click in. Now I've been told this should become easier over time but it shouldn't be quite this difficult to begin with. It should be manufactured such that they are relatively easy to push down. This becomes even more irritating if you're shorter trying to push down when it's higher up. Honestly a bit of a design flaw. I have my elderly mum live with me and this would be difficult for her to operate. Also be careful of the blades. They are sharp. I accidentally left the blade on the edge of my counter while it and the rest of the components were air drying and my mum sliced the edge of her hand. I haven't used the attachment blades so cannot comment on these. It does work fine. You have to push the lid down so it meets the container quite tight for it to work but it does work fine. I think Vitamix has a few improvements to make on the manufacturing of their Food Processors. I am not in love with this. I wish I was, but I am giving myself the time to try and get used to it and get over my biases.

Good Idea Fragile Product
We’ve purchased the food processor attachment when we bought our blender a little over 2 years ago. The idea was to reduce the amount of counter top appliances that we own by having one base for the blender and the food processor. In theory this would have been a great idea, however the food processor is poorly designed and doesn’t hold up well when used frequently. The first time we used this to grate cheese I had to hold the safety mechanism on the lid down because the lid would lift when the motor came on to grate the cheese, this meant have to hold down the shute guide and the safety mechanism with one hand while using the other to start the motor. While this was an annoying issue it wasn’t enough to make me want to return it, and the motor in the base seems to be as powerful as our old Cuisinart DLC7. The real problems started after about a year and a half. First on of the cheap plastic hubs on one of the grating disks stripped out when grating cheese, then one of the holding tabs on the lid snapped off when removing the lid and finally the safety mechanism on the bowl is broken although it is still usable at this time but it is only a matter of time before it fully fails rendering the food processor useless. Our old food processor was 12 years old and was just starting to fall apart. Vitamix makes great blenders but failed on this product. Also just the food processor attachment cost as much as a stand alone Cuisinart 14 cup food processor.

Doesn't offer chop or any new features
It's been 4years since the release of this model and no new design yet. This doesn't offer chop or peel like the other competitors.

Never thought I'd use one
I decided to splurge for Christmas and upgrade my Vitamix so I bought the 2300 with the food processor. I'd never owned a processor, but I'm using it more than the blender. I make a different sandwich spread every week and have discovered how much better freshly shredded cheese melts than packaged shreds.

So ridiculous product
I bought the food processor attachment and it doesn’t fit with my blender 5200. Now what I do with this attachment?
