Have a love/not so much love with this comforter

First, I will start by saying that the comforter is beautiful. The look is rich and very high quality. That being said, let me tell you what I DON'T like. The design is made of multiple threads which doesn't feel smooth. You can't run your hand over them because they catch on anything even sightly rough. I find that they catch on my fingernails, any not completely smooth skin or hangnails. I wash dishes and do house work, so my hands aren't always the smoothest. I have to either fold over the top while I sleep or wrap the sheet over the top, so I don't make pulls! I have 2 young boys who now cannot touch my bed because it gets caught on their little nails all the time. It upsets me because I sooooo LOVE the look but the feel is TERRIBLE!
