Best countertop appliance I own.
This is my absolute favorite small appliance. I use it an infinite number of times a day, for everything from pour-over coffee to steeped tea to boiled eggs to warmed bowls and oatmeal… it’s perfect in every way.

Boils and keeps water warm, super convenient!
Water boiler and warmer works great. It runs at lower wattage than standard hot water pots, even when heating to a boil. Exactly what we needed. Timer feature is great to have hot water ready in the morning when you come into the kitchen.

Good design but one area for improvement.
Great for having a stanless steel basin which should not rust out like the teflon coated one from Zojirushu that we had before (which still lasted a decade). But, I feel like this boiler could use extra insulation to prevent heat from coming out and wasting energy. Perhaps a vacuum wall design would be beneficial.

Does Its Job so far!
so far so good! after having this unit for 2 months it works as it should with no problems. I just wish the lid fit better without jiggling and that the stainless tub would not have a welded bottom plate, as opposed to one solid unit. Rust is just waiting to appear on thin welds... This is Z's only stainless tub unit which is made in China -

Quality product
Works well. This is a replacement for my original Zojirushi water boiler that was around 30 years old. I ordered this model in particular for the stainless steel interior. My original boiler’s interior was coated and it started deteriorating which precipitated this purchase. Good quality

Bad insulation. Cheaper material.
I have 18 year old Zojirushi water boiler so decided to replace it. This new unit absolutely feel less quality as the old one. Very bad insulation as the upper outside feel hot when touch. This is not a good replacement even my old one is 18 year old.

Thank you for sharing your feedback regarding your new water boiler. The CD-WHC40 model does not come with insulation, so it's normal to feel some heat transfer to the exterior. We have other models available that feature vacuum insulation, such as our VE Hybrid line. It appears that your water boiler is functioning properly. Great device now in steel
Great device now in steel. Had a plastic version for many years that worked great. Upgraded to this one to avoid hot water coming into contact with plastic (bpa fears).
